I-a. Generic Cover Page ------I-b. Specific Cover Page -----III. Possible Portfolio Configuration

These are not assignments or activities, per se, but are files and information to support the maintenance and development of an electronic portfolio (EP).

I-a. Generic Cover Page

To support the submission of a potential artifact for inclusion in your portfolio, a generic coversheet has been provided. This is not an activity, per se, but this cover page is provided to assist the submission and processing of a portfolio artifact.  The file is generic in that it could also be used as a cover page for assignments, or other purposes.  Using it as a cover page for a portfolio artifact is certainly an option.

The file is located in the FILES folder on the textbook CD and is called:   COVERPG1.DOC

II. Possible Portfolio Configuration
- based on Indiana University Northwest's Undergraduate Conceptual Framework

To illustrate how a portfolio MIGHT be arranged, a possible layout is suggested below using the conceptual framework of Indiana University Northwest.  Of course, a similar configuration could be designed around a completely different set of standards or outcomes.

The graphic at the left is just an example of how folders get stored inside other folders and does not represent the specific case illustrated at the right.  The example below (right) suggests that an EP would be developed as a series of web pages.  The web page files would be stored in each of the primary folders.  Graphics for those web page files are stored in subfolders under each respective group.  The suggested scenario includes access to Word-file versions of the same thing also stored in the respective groups.

The Sample Below does NOT match the  suggested structure at the right and is only an illustration of how folders might become sub-folders of others in a hierarchy.
Suggested Format for EP
Based on IUN Conceptual Framework.

Start early and prepare files and folders for storage early and conduct regular maintenance on the configuration.  Certainly the above scenario is only one possible arrangement and many variations would be equally reasonable and expected.
